There are many expenses associated with a burial, but also flexiblity based on your choices.
GRAVE: The current cost for a grave depends on the cemetery. Trow Cemetery is $600 a grave (as of November 2025), Center Cemetery is $500 per grave (as of August 2025). Please note that the cost is subject to change, and may increase annually. Once you purchase a grave, you are an “owner”. Although this is a one time cost, we do ask that owners continue to contribute to BUCA (See below).
Our Regulations allow for the following in one grave: (1) 1 green burial and 1 cremation; (2) 3 cremations, or (3) 1 casket burial and 1 cremation. *Graves are only for sale in Center Cemetery and Trow Cemetery.
Once you make arrangements and render payment, our Treasurer will send you a deed for the graves(s) and you would become landowners in our cemetery. FYI, graves cannot be resold or reassigned to another person. Your direct descendants would inherit the graves and can be buried there if they have the deed and can verify the familial connection.
PREPARATION OF THE GRAVE: For all types of burials, there are expenses associated with the site preparation for burial. Obviously, the cost is much less for cremation burial, but people need to be advised on the costs. BUCA does not do the site preparation, but can assist with arrangements.
DONATIONS: We request that owners and their families continue to donate to the cemetery for the ongoing maintenance of the cemeteries. We do annual appeal letters to request monetary donations. We also ask that people do maintenance service, such as at our Fall and Spring clean up days. These are not required, but we hope all particiapte in the upkeep of the cemeteries.
COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH FUNERAL HOME: Depending on the services you choose, the funeral home has many different levels of pricing. Some burials require less services and costs. Please see the Smith & Kelleher General Price List for a sample overview of costs.
